John Rutter: The Sound of Celebration

The sacred music, carols, part songs, and arrangements of Sir John Rutter are adored by choral singers and audiences alike, whilst his unbridled energy as conductor, producer, and educator continues to breathe new life into the choirs and choral institutions young and old.

Llandaff Cathedral Festival Chorus are joined by Cardiff Bach Choir and accompanied by Tredegar Town Band with Llandaff Cathedral’s mighty organ, in this celebration of the music of John Rutter in his 80th year including his powerful and energetic Gloria.

The Llandaff Cathedral Festival Chorus began in 2022 with the reboot of the Cathedral Festival. The massed choir embodies the spirit of the festival by bringing singers from many different communities to celebrate and make music together. The choir, which is unauditioned and welcomes all, meets for just six rehearsals before the big day. This year with the help of Cardiff Bach choir it will be over 100 voices strong.

Tredegar is one of most famous and successful brass bands in the world - both on and off the contesting stage.

With over 150 years of rich musical heritage they continue to explore exciting artistic horizons - from film appearances to contemporary ballet productions. They are a ground breaking brass band with an artistic ambition based on incredible muscial excellence.
