Saturday 11 January 2025

11:00am | Llandaff Parish Hall | Free

Join us for a hot drink, piece cake and an hour of live music!

Perfect for those who enjoy live music, those who feel isolated and those in need of a warm place. Throughout the concert, audiences will enjoy delightful live music along with tea and cakes.

Our Coffee Concerts Series started as a Songs and Scones Concert during last summers Festival. These concerts are truly heart-warming experiences which bring families and friends together, offer new experiences, and allow many to re-visit memories from the past. These concerts are fully accessible and also suitable for people living with Dementia and their carers.

Matthew is a recent graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff where he studied music, specialising in Vocal Studies. He was very fortunate to train under James Gilchrist, Donald Maxwell, and Tim Richards. He currently sings with Llandaff Cathedral Choir as a deputy singer and in other choirs local to Cardiff, such as The Caritas Consort. Alongside singing, Matthew works as a conductor. He is Choral Conducting Scholar at St Martin’s Church in Roath, directs the Cardiff based choral ensemble Solstice, and is a Music Team Associate with Chepstow Male Voice Choir. He is a former member of Worcester Cathedral Choir, St Davids Cathedral Choir, and Genesis Sixteen. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, Guinness, and going for long walks with his dog, Socks.

Described at a young age as an observer, Lizzie would credit much of her growth both personally and professionally to her love for music making. Particular highlights include playing piano for both the RWCMD Chamber choir and the National Youth Choir of Wales, working with conductor Tim Rhys Evans . Since graduating with a first-class honours degree, Lizzie is dedicating much of her time to early years music education. She works as a piano teacher, workshop facilitator for organisation Little Notes and support musician for Wigmore Hall’s Chamber Tots programme. Alongside this education work, Lizzie’s performing career continues and she has really enjoyed preparing for this concert with her good friend Matthew.
